This Room Cannot Be Eaten

A directorial work under academic supervision. The premiere took place in May 2023 at Štúdio Kaplnka. The dramatization was later also taken into the programme of Štúdio 12, in cooperation with the VŠMU Theatre Faculty, as part of the “Performancie” cycle.

The same character, Tereza, is played by three actresses at three different ages - 13, 15 and 18 (Margaréta Štofčíková, Tereza Ťaptíková, Vanesa Hagyungová). Rather than merely describing the passage of time, the production makes it directly visible on stage. Dramaturgy and choreography were both by Katarína Jungová - the same author thus shaped both the textual and the movement line of a production about one body existing in three timeframes at once.

The production began as a cross-faculty collaboration, bringing acting and object-theatre students together with dancers from the VŠMU Dance Faculty and blending their disciplines on stage.
