An original directorial work inspired by online “red pill” culture and the manosphere, which takes as its material a specific, publicly documented case: biographical fragments of the influencer Andrew Tate, linked to accusations of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The production assembles his story out of fragments - his parents’ divorce, the strict upbringing of his father, a former chess champion, bullying at school - working with a real, publicly followed story rather than a fictional character. It uses the principle of theatre within theatre: at the start, the actors sit as themselves and talk about their own generation, until a quotation from The Matrix and the motif of the red pill carries them into the biographical frame of Tate’s childhood; the same quotation later returns as a cut between his childhood and adulthood. Movement and choreography, through which performance pressure and masculinity are channelled directly into the actors’ bodies, are handled by Katarína Jungová. The production was created within the New Generation program of the Theatre Institute (Divadelný ústav), in cooperation with the Theatre Faculty of VŠMU, with support from the Tatra Banka Foundation. Staged at Štúdio 12 in Bratislava in June 2026.
